Krista: The political ideology quiz pegs me as a "Solid Liberal," but I've always seen myself as a left-leaning independent. My biggest political influence was truly a counter-influence. My father was a staunch republican and unforgiving in his views. We locked horns from my teen years on, and my many arguments with him helped shape my political views over the years. In terms of my political involvement, I have always voted in presidential elections, but not unlike a good majority of my peers, I'm less than informed or involved in state and local politics. This lack of knowledge and involvement is what has brought me to this class. I want to become more informed and involved on the national, state, and local levels of politics. While my knowledge of current events is strong (9 out of 10 on the quiz), my civic literacy is poor at best (5 out of 10 on the quiz). I'm looking forward to this reeducation and becoming a more informed and involved member of the American electorate.
